Default Language, Identity and Education

We don't often see much faith expressed in Pakistan's education system. It is broken, for sure, and at the heart of the rubble stands our confusion about the language of instruction.

While, I have seen a number of experts speaking about the importance of local languages as the medium of instruction for at least the initial years of a child's education, there seems to be a divide between what experts say and what populace believes or at least what reflects in government policies.

For example this piece here

It is a complex issue and I believe it needs to be debated a lot more. So what's your take of the issue?
English? Urdu? local languages? or all? and why?
