I studied Economics in my Bachelors as an elective and I opted for it. I think its a better option than its counterparts in the group and can help you a great deal in interview (if you clear) and any Economic based Essay.

Yes the syllabus is lengthy but if you have studied it for 6 years, I do not find any harm to opt for it.
