Urdu literature and progressive movements this was a fairly historical inclined topic. And I agree with you that I was ashamed that our education system didn't really teach us much about this at all. We know bits and pieces (mostly just related to the hindi-urdu controversy and the two nation theory and later how Urdu became part of a common cultural identity for the muslims to band under) but after so many years studying Urdu as a separate subject in schools, this should've been an easy one to tackle.
