I have seen many seniors recommending following books for US history:

1)US History by Majumdar

2)A People's History of the United States by Howard Zinn

3) The American Pageant by Thomas A. Bailey and David M. Kennedy

My question is that these books are too old,some even before 2000. Is it okay to study one of these or is there any alternative good suggestions available?
