Q#8. Discuss revival of Pak-US relations in cotext of present US-Taliban peace process.

Ans.

Introduction

Pakistan always has been a mediator between US and Taliban peace agreements and dialogues. The present ongoing US-Taliban peace process renders a suitable platform for the revival of Pak-US relations in different ways, like;

Possible Ways;

1. PAK-US relations do seem to assume a track of peace involving Talibans in the region.

2. US supremacy is going to reduce it's impact on the geo-strategic position of Pakistan, as this supremacy is tending towards the use of soft power with Talibans.

3. Pak-US relations do seem to be useful for China also. Where economic prosperity will be result for Pakistan in its outcome.

4. Sustainability in the Pak-US safe relations including Talibans look to produce a soft impression of the US on the middle east countries also. As only in Afghanistan the US consumes 5 billions dollars on war per year. In contrast the middle east countries will suppose to face the US with soft expectations. Which will manage the middle east countries to adopt the soft foreign policy terms towards the US and possibly the US policy will also tend to adopt the same terms towards the middle east countries.

5. Pak-US relation on the assumed new peaceful track will give extra premium reputation to the US also. Where peace, happiness, and prosperity is the supposed possible reality for the region , especially for Talibans.

Conclusion

Everything is difficult before it is easy. International Peace is possible on the soft foreign policy terms of each country. If US the only hard super power can tend towards the US-Taliban peace process. Each country can do the same. And as a result peace, happiness, and prosperity will be the outcome for the region.
