You have raised good points. I would like to add a little more. I am also in favor of the Single National Curriculum. And curriculum should be such as can prepare the nation to keep pace with the advancing nations.
Obviously, there will be some pros and cons to this new policy but the policymakers can also see the impacts of the currently going on (a great variety of) syllabuses in the country.
The current curriculums are opted as per status.
the policymakers should also keep in view why our nation is still underdeveloped in spite of getting the expensive education.
Only education (cramming type of education) cannot serve the purpose, parallel (ethical, moral, social, and religious, etc.) training is as necessary as education.
Special care should be given to education at the primary level as a strong base plays a key role to construct a huge building.
