Default In a dilemma whether I should go for css or not?

The respected mentors, CSP's and the dear members, Assalam O Alaikum!
I've just joined css forum only in search for a right answer to my confusion. My question goes here that I just graduated & now I'm planning to appear for the css exam, I did not plan for it before like most of the students plan earlier & so they are clear about their decision but I'm quite confused in deciding for it for the reason that I was not preplanned but I had some motivation towards css though I did not fully made my mind, the meanwhile I met a csp officer to help me getting out of this confusion as well as to let me know whether its the right choice for me or not, but since I've met him my motivation level has totally dropped and I'm not feeling energetic enough to start for css preparation because he has mentioned the job scenario to be extremely tough & almost not a luxurious life.So my point is that everyone goes for a good lifestyle & to enjoy the perks of the job, here I would like to mention that I was doing mbbs from abroad but accidentally I could not complete that, I returned home decided for ADP (two years graduation programme) & I did the two classes in the same year to manage the gap I had & Alhamdulillah I passed. So anyone who reads my query would be clear that I've been through different paths & my next planning to pursue my career in Islamic studies whether being an Islamic scholar or where the destiny takes me to, as I mentioned above that now another option of css is there and I can't mention the level of confusion I'm in, deciding for it, because if I start preparing with this motivation or energy I might lack the self confidence as well the interest in between which is not acceptable for a css aspirant, I've very short time to make the decision.
Another part of the question is that the mentor I met hasn't told me about any books for the subjects & the syllabus, rather told me to study openly from the resources on Internet etc, but I think at least there must be a book recommended for each subject that we can consult, I haven't got the proper guidance.
I request the respective members to please give your few minutes to read my detailed query & answer it accordingly with your knowledge & experience, I would respect your kind suggestions & opinions. Waiting for the reply.

Kind Regards
