Précis
The writer expounded as to how one can develop a good interdependent relation wherein rich, enduring and highly productive relationship with others can be formed. One cannot form artificially good relationship with others unless one learns to control and master one’s own personality. One may still forge good relations with others artificially but that would be superficial and would collapse in testing time by exposing flawed personality and character. Therefore, one must possess strong character-ethic rather than personality-ethic as the former grants independence, which is an achievement, and helps in building real interdependence, which is a matter of choice. He concluded that once a person achieves self-independence, building a healthy and sustainable relationship becomes quite easy.
