The length of the essay is a secondary thing, i dont think you failed the essay last year because of the word count. 6-7 pages is more than sufficient if you kept the pre-requisites of an academic essay in mind. My qualified attempt's essay was 1-2 pages lesser than the failed attempt's essay yet i cleared Alhamdulilah, so take this advice with my experience.
