absolutely rite!
Islamiat is one of those, or may be, the only paper which pushes an aspirant's knowledge to the limit regarding controversial issues, the issues which are in every state's media... Why Islam, Why Jihaad, Why Hijaab, Why Muhammad (PBUH)and the itchy list of questions has no end...
To prepare Islamiat as a
"specialized, unique and demanding " discipline and not just as a bunch of
"expected" questions, study should be aimed at gathering the very core and crucial knowledge.
And this is the aim of Islamiat paper, to evaluate the aspirant's know how about the "Political, Economical, Social, Historical" course of Islamic ideology.
Forum is open for disagreement!
