A woman leading a prayer as an imam has no precedent in islam.Men and woman are equal but it is not according to the way the westerners interpret islam.

If it was justified or approved by the Prophet(P.B.U.H),the Prophet(PBUH) would certainly have granted permission or forbidden it.It has been in my scant reading that islam has not granted permission to women to lead prayers.
