Q no 2: Lack of foresight and future planning in the past 30 years has led to the present energy crisis in the country. The situation is getting worse with every passing day where people have taken to the streets and have resorted to bloody riots. Briefly analyze present energy crisis and suggest ways for improvement.

WELL I DID NOT APPEAR IN THE EXAM . I WAS SELECTED LAST YEAR BUT WAS MADE AS SUBJECT TO MEDICAL FITNESS. ANYWAYS I TRIED TO ATTEMPT PAPER.
Answer can be divided in four para graphs.

First Paragraph:
Effective planning is main thing to achieve targets. But unfortunately in our political and administrative setup lack of effective planing to achieve rapid growth and success is prevailing, and energy crises is the outcome of this lack of effective planning. In last 30 years the successive governments tried to solve the energy issue in short term basis just to popularize their respective governments and neglected long term solution. Kala Bagh Dam is one of the example of it including high rates of IPPS and dependence of oil based power plants which costs energy more than it can be produced through hydel power .

Second Paragraph:
The crises which grown up to maturity since last three decades have created big problem for the government to handle, peoples on streets demonstrating, strikes, riots, bloodshed , destroying government installations all these not only harming the individuals but also harming the economic growth of the country ,because economic growth largely depends upon the energy availability in any country. These protests giving serious setback to government credibility on micro level and country image on macro level.
Third Paragraph:
Present energy crises is due to lack planning in past and not giving serious attention to solve it on long term basis, merely energy consumption cannot solve the issue alone as it is only a short term solution , the need of hour is to take concrete steps in solving the issue on long term basis. The current energy crises is also due to natural phenomenon which is beyond man's control but it should not be make as an excuse for problem solving, its due to lack of unity among provinces as to cite one example of Kala Bagh. Large dependence on oil based power plants resulting in high cost of energy production which leads to energy crises in the shape of expensive electricity.

Fourth Paragraph:
Now the solution for energy crises. Points are as under:
Short term:
More Energy Consumption
Projects of Solar Energy,Wind Energy (It have huge potential in Pakistan)

Long Term:
Dams should be built with conses like kala Bagh,Basha Dam.
Coal Energy
Nuclear Energy

Hydal power is the most cheapest energy resource and emphasizes should be on to built more dams which have dual advantage. Energy produced from coal and nuclear should be second in preference as its expensive than hydal but it should not be ignored because mere reliance on hydal is also not a good option.
