another 1 from the 2009 paper A confuses me
Q. A body is moving northward and a force is applied in eastward , the acceleration produced is
a) northward
b) 45 degree east of north
c) eastward
d) none of these
if it was moving very slowly towards north
with the simplest approach from second law of newton it should be clear that accleration should be in direction of applied force hence option C should be correct .
if it was moving very fast with increasing velocity towards north and force is very small
then option A is correct
option B can also be correct in a special case.
hence this way it looks as if option D is best answer to be given at this moment.
