Its really interesting to know how different people wrote the precis of the really testing passage. For me it was mind blowing and i came up with following :

Precis: The Greek philosophers believed in learning by observation and
experience. They wanted to gain the practical knowledge for the
betterment of human life and character. They were statesmen and
practical politicians. They built ideal states for themselves and were
great lovers of wisdom. They came forward to gather knowledge for
the illumination of human life.
