dialogue is feasible solution but depend on convergence of interests..
HOLY PROPHET P.B.U.H ALSO PREFER DIALOGUE.......SULAH E HUDAABI AND ACCEPTED HUMILIATED TERMS..........
SO MUSLIMS ARE RESISTANT IF THEY ARE NOT SUPERIOR THEY TEND TO BE ,,,IF THEY ALSO ACCEPT TERMS
SHEIKH AHMED YASIN WHO ACCEPTED THE TERMS WAS MARTYRED

You see, as far as Terrorism is concerned, convergence of interests is totally out of the question most of the times. While you mentioned the treaty of Hudaibiyah, you probably forgot the aftermath - conquest of Mecca (after merely two years.) At some point, you have to retaliate in order to preserve your interests (although only time decides whether your interests were actually according to what you had perceived or they were just an illusion.)
