I think reading twice or memorizing main points would greatly help in reproducing it.
A photographic memory that brings back each letter, line, punctuation mark etc when required is the task of machine, not man.

One more thing, especially during exams and prior to exams too if it is practiced, try making your own analysis of what you have read or what is asked and then always leave some room for returning back to the original stance if you fear being misled. This helps develop analytical skills and brings originality in your writings which are two key components of answering questions in competitive examinations.
