Default DMG Officers vs Executive PCS Officers

Similarities:
1. Both get the jobs of District Management including DCOs.
2. Same perks previleges.
3. Same status. In punjab, there is PMS (PCS+PSS combined form) so there is conflict of job specification. current conflict originated on this point in punjab.
Differences:
1. Promotions are relatively slower in PCS Cadre as compared to federal cadre,
Federal= 11 years in getting BS-19, Ex-PCS= 14 years.
2. In DMG u can be posted in any of the part of Pakistan in any sector of government including District administration. While in Ex-PCS u r only restricted to ur province mainly in district administration.
3. In sindh, there is a strong lobby of PCS Officers, so there is very little discrimination between DMG and PCS Officers but it does exist.
4. Foreign trainings and assignments are more associated with DMG Officers due to their link to federal government.
5. Future is brighter for PCS due to 18th Amenedment.
6. Great Horizontal & Vertical mobility in DMG which is lesser n limted in Ex-PCS.
7. You go till BS-22 in DMG (if age permits) while u go till BS-21 usually in Ex-PCS.
Conclusion:-
Among Federal cadre, DMG is the best, Among Provincial cadre, Executive PCS is the best.
While DMG is better than Ex-PCS but Ex-PCS is wholly District Administration.
