Concerning the issue it is important to understand what is actually the meaning of 'fitna'. The word fitna is being used many times in Quran Pak and prophetic traditions. And in most of the places it means ' TRIAL OR TEST'.
There is no specific or particular history relating this issue(according to my knowledge).
Topic is important in order to answer people's accusation that Islam describes woman as Fitna(seduction).
Woman is fitna means woman is trial or test to the man. In other words it is a test of man. Will man devotes his all time to woman and forget his Lord? Will man disobey his Lord for the sake of woman? Will he make the forbidden looks to woman? Will he establish illegal relationship with them? Will he keep modesty and have a relation in a manner which satisfy Allah Almighty?
Islam not only describes woman as trial to man but it also refers children as trial to parents. Will parents brought up them according to Islamic ways? Will they distract parents from worship Allah?
Term of fitna applies to both men and women. As mentioned by Allah The Almighty in this verse:
"And We have made some of you [people] as trial for others - will you have patience?" (Al-Furqan 20)
Circumstances are also called as fitna in Islam.
"and We shall make a trial of you with evil and with good, and to Us you will be returned". (Al-Anbia' 35)
"who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed - and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving". ( Al-Mulk 2)
"and know that your properties and your children are but a trial and that Allah has with Him a great reward". (Al-Anfal 28)
