ISLAMABAD: The Government has decided to take up the issue of judicial and executive powers in the Parliament as the President called for a session of the National Assembly for Monday.
The decision was taken in a meeting of coalition partners chaired by President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.
According to sources, PML-Q leader, Senator Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, , Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Senator Dr Babar Awan, Senator Afrasiab Khattak, Senator Muhammad Zahid Khan, Senator Kalsoom Perveen, Munir Khan Orakzai, MNA, Noor-ul-Haq Qadri.
It was decided that PM Gilani will take the Parliament’s opinion on the prevailing situation. Following on the advice of Prime Minister Gilani, the President called for a session of the National Assembly on Monday, August 1.
Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani sought the opinion of the coalition partners regarding the judicial and executive powers – All partners agreed to take up the issue to the Parliament.
The President briefed the coalition partners on his recent visits to Iran, Afghanistan and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The meeting, which lasted for over two and half hours, also took stock of the current political and economic situation obtaining in the country.
