IBP qualification per se doesnt ensure one's place confirmed in bank , however it equips you with relevant skills and techniques that help you excell in your career in banking sector. One who qualify JAIBP have much better prospects of getting job in banks but its not guarented.

As for as your quation as to how easy it is for a non banker to get through this exam..yes the non bankers though in very small proportion qualify this exam.A large portion of exam is based on theory and the subject which you study during your MBA such as HR, Marketing, economics,IT etc. Some practical knowledge, nevertheless, is required to qualify the papers such as newly introduced branch banking and International Trade. But one can compensate lack of experience with rigorous study.

However for me its not advisable to non bankers to go for DAIBP.First because it deprives you of the incentives availble to bankers in shape of cash awards and promotions offered by banks to their regular employees. Secondly , its specifically a banking qualification with little scope in any other field.Banking Industry in pakistan may not have the potential to offer multitude of jobs in future.

Conversely i advise the finance professionals having MBA/M.Com degrees to acquire certifications/qualifications like CFA, ACCA, CIMA, CIA,CISA,PMP etc. These qualifications are generic in nature and are in great demand in corporate sector.
