well, true! some channels work intentionally and willingly with MQM and support it like GEO etc, while others are made to campaign and support MQM, in one way or the other, by Theats, blackmailing etc.
Look Talat Hussain, he was forced to leave Karachi after 12 May 2007 Coverage.

Many people asked him to return Pakistan, in fact when in past PML N had a row with MQM, they demanded it again, and not to forget Jamaat e Islami, which has a continuous and constant stance that he should come back if he is a true leader, (or otherwise should be brought back )... so people are demanding, but Altaf knows, that the atrocities he has committed to Pakistan and to people of Pakistan, he would be fool to come back, it would be his biggest blunder...

Well, Haqeeqi group was made with this thought that there should be power balance for Muhajjir community. And dont forget that in last couple of months, some efforts, and I mean serious efforts, were made to let the MQM Haqeeqi resume its activities, which were mostly curbed by MQM Altaf group. And in My opinion, these recent killings are may be partly to gain territory, but most of it was to stop govt and authorities from working any plan against the wishes of Altaf Hussain, and by extent against the wishes of so called "world powers".
Because, if Magisterial system is launched effectively, then MQM Altaf, would suffer and lose its power in Karachi and Hyderabad.
same is the case with regrouping of MQM Haqeeqi. It would be of great danger to Altaf and his vagabonds to have opposition like MQM Haqeeqi, who will definitely have serious enmity and anger towards Altaf and his goons, who killed their hundreds of members.
and in both cases, "world powers" will loose their important ally and pawn which they now and then use to twist Pakistan's Arm.
