At the dawn of Islam, the civilized world (omitting Indian and China) comprised of two major empires included Byzantines and Persia. From civilization point of view, only two civilizations had managed to maintain their status of being called a civilization and these were Greeks and Egyptians.
So, the world at the dawn of Islam consisted of Persians, Byzantines, Greek, Egyptians, Chinese and Aryans.
