I agree , pakistan and US share this historic mistake of supporting militancy back in 70s and now paying heavily for it. In my view, development, dialogue and detternce could be three options to eliminate this cancer. Deveopment in infrastructure, better health n education facilities, could help us to discourage militancy, poverty being a root cause of it, madrassah reforms should be introduced, not only in words but in spirit also..which should check the syllabus n curriculum taught at these religious institutions.
Importance of dialogue can nor be undermined, we have seen that a decade of use of force has not availed anything. Peaceful settlements are envitable.
Detterance should be the last option.
