That's true but DMG officers are given one grade higher than PMS officers in KP and balochistan. I think DMG is more powerful in other provinces than in Punjab and Sindh. In KP and Balochistan, they are appointed DCO just after 5 years of service whereas it takes 12 years for a DMG officer in Punjab to be appointed as DCO.
I think we should be realistic while considering these postings and stuff, considering the fact we are living in Pakistan and you know here reference is required to get postings...Whosoever will have a strong reference will get a better posting...If a DMG officer does not have a good reference later in his career, he will spend most of his time in "Khudday Line" postings...On the other hand if someone has big reference even if he is not from DMG or PSP he will enjoy the best of postings....DCO,DPO,RPO,Commissioner etc all are semi-political postings, no one can get these postings without a reference and without considering the fact that whichever service he belongs to..!
