just write the key points, under separate headings....no need of writing each and everything and the time is already short, whenever you find something new, include it under the relevant heading in the points form....you can use a file with the separators for each topic....do it as you feel yourself easy...register is not the necessity, it depends on the student that how he or she is comfortable,

secondly, you can't memorize everything by reading books or newspapers only....making notes is very productive particularly during the exams for revision.
