Types of Personality tests

Personality tests have two categories

1.Non Projective Tests
2.Projective tests

1. Non Projective tests
Psychologists can use self report measures and ask people about a relatively small sample of their behavior

Example: Minnesota Multi phasic Personality inventory 2 (MMPI-2)

2. Projective Tests
A test in which a person is shown an ambiguous stimulus and asked to describe it or tell a story about it.

Example: Rorschach test and Thematic Apperception Test(TAT)
