The overall administration of the frontier regions is carried out by the FATA Secretariat, based in Peshawar and reporting to the Governor of KPK.

Dear Arsalan, agree with the definition of FATA and FR regions but one important thing to be noted after the 19th amendment of Pak:
The text of 19th amendment of Pak constitution says:
7. Amendment of Article 246 of the Constitution.- In the Constitution, in Article 246,
(i) in paragraph (a), sub-paragraphs (iii) and (iv) shall be omitted.
(ii) in paragraph (c),
(a) after sub-paragraph (iii) the following new sub-paragraph shall be inserted, namely:-
“(iiia) Tribal Areas adjoining Lakki Marwat district;” and
(b) after sub-paragraph (iv) the following new sub-paragraph shall be inserted, namely-
“(iva) Tribal Areas adjoining Tank district;”
It means:
The constitutional reforms committee made an amendment in Article 246 of the constitution in the proposed bill through which the Tribal Areas, adjoining Laki Marwat and Tank districts, have be declared a part of FATA.
Conclusion:
The FR Lakki and FR Tank administration has been administrated by the PA of the adjoining FATA agency not by the DCO...
Also, others FR regions of Peshawar, Bannu, Dikhan, Kohat has been administered by the DCO of the adjoining district...
