Wish you best of luck Arsalan Bro….I have stayed there for some time and you being interviewed first was a blessing in disguise for you…as other candidates were interviewed till 50 to 55mins. The page on which my friend noted the questions could not be photocopied by me as there was no photocopier shop near the Commission office. But giving a general out look, taste of the panel is like…

1) They ask you much in your Master Degree i.e the latest qualification you mentioned in your PMS form (LLB,MBA, MSc Political Science, MSc History etc).
2) They do ask you in your optional subjects provided that they have some knowledge about that as today Arsalan was not asked in Geography as that was a bit technical subject.
3) Its premature to form an opinion about the panel but what I have judged today was that the panel is good at MBA, Political Science, Islamic History, Muslim Law and Jurisprudence, Pakistan Affairs and English Literature.

Some random questions and topics which I remember..

1) What is difference between Zakat and Charity? How Zakat can be implemented in a better way?
2) How to curb sectarianism? Tell us something about the genesis of sectarianism.
3) General questions were asked about the Prophet(P.B.U.H) and four rightly guided Caliphs. (The candidate was having his master degree in History)
4) Those who are having Muslim Law and Jurisprudence as their optional subject shall study deep the original sources i.e The Muslim Personal Law Shariat Application Act, Dissolution of Muslim Marriages Act 1939, Muslim Family Law Ordinance 1961. As they were asking questions about Talaq and Khula. The traditional approach towards this topic, the modern approach, what is the position of Pakistani Law and What do you think these principles are in consonance with Islam or not? The candidates having Muslim Law and Jurisprudence are required to have an ample grip over the Sources of Islamic Law and their applications.
5) One candidate was asked to give a flash back of the important events that took place between Hindi-Urdu Controversy 1867 and 1929. This means that one shall have ample grip over Pakistan Affairs too.
6) One candidate was asked about the difference between Communism and Islam? Difference between Socialism and Islam? (I don’t know he was having Political Science as optional or not. But what I can recall these questions were present in our Islamiyat paper. So it better to have a clear concept of this topic)
7) Those who are having Political Science were asked about their favourite political philosopher. And then questions were thoroughly asked about the philosopher and theories enunciated by him. There was a sort of question that Can a businessman be a good politician? (I have no idea, but I guess this question is related to political theory)
8) Those who were having English Literature as their subject in Masters were asked about their Favourite Book and Favourite writer and then put some more questions in this connection.
9) Those who were having International Relations as a subject were asked questions about Foreign Policy .
10) One question was about the reforms in FATA.
11) One shall have grasp over current issues no problem how controversial and premature they may be.

*I have tried my best to give the full account of first day. But I don’t have anything in black and white that’s why any omission is regretted.*

P.S….My post is in continuation of Arsalan’s post i.e I havn’t mentioned the questions given by Arsalan.
