But as I am reading them, first they do not cover the whole syllabus rather they partially touch the topics of CSS-Urdu. 2ndly, they are not easy to comprehend in a single go or two (look at the topic: Urdu zaban ki ibtida ky Nazriyat). One must have prior knowledge to learn from these books. Overall, MA Urdu guides are not the books to be recommended for Urdu optional as basic books.

Regards.
MA Urdu guides do not cover the whole syllabus rather cover it partially but whatever is there is comprehensive and better as copared to other books. Moreover, the discourse is up-to-the mark, replete with a lot of references and quotations which may not be found anywhere else.

AS for covering the whole syllabus, the book by Amjad Ali Shakir is sufficient.

How many topics have you covered?
