In CSS no one has background of 12 subjects. A person selects optionals as per aptitude and also keeping in view the scoring pattern of particular subjects. No doubt Sociology and Journalism have remained a good scoring subjects and are not lengthy as well. I'll suggest you to go ahead with sociology and journalism and work hard. Best of luck
