One day, as I was walking slow
My heart still aching, my head hung low.
I came across a barren field
It's soil unfertile, unable to yield.

I gazed upon this land so bare
My interest peaked, lost in a stare.
Acres and acres of empty plain
Just like my soul...with all it's pain.

Step by step I moved along
The wind stood still ... without a song.
Rocks and stones littered the earth
Not a blade of grass, or sign of birth.

My only thought, I shook my head
This land like my heart, is all but dead.
Not a sign of life was there to see
What value could ... in this field be?

Then suddenly, a light caught my eye
I turned my head, to see what lie.
Amongst the dirt, covered in dust
A facet was sparkling, released by a gust.

As I bent down, to see up close
This shimmer of hope, in a field of woes.
My breath was stolen, I was aghast
My body trembled, my heart raced fast.

For in this field, it was quite clear
This land was not hopeless, it held something dear.
It took some time, as it now seems
To forget the past, and to see my dreams.

I awoke in a state of newfound glee
My pain was gone, my heart was set free.
Today I realized, that you are here
My future is brighter, because you are near.

You fill my heart with love and hope
Desperation has left me, I now can cope.
Day by day, our love will grow
This field of my heart we now must sow.

For what we sow, so shall we reap
As we take this step, a faith held leap.
Take my hand, our journey starts
We found something priceless, as we bonded our hearts.
