In 2008, the new PPP government was the direct victim of NAB in the famous NRO case and supreme court was not willing to let go of these corrupt politicians who were NAB convicted. It was due to this reason that NAB was first tried to be disbanded by the government but the attempt failed. However, the financial crunch and reduction of staff strength to seriously low levels by sending contractual employees home made NAB virtually impotent. Now when NAB has survived the onslaught it is expected that it will rise to its lost glory again. Yes, this process has to be completed before next elections otherwise chances of recruitment will erode. Nevertheless, there are almost six months for the government to go and if this thing is not completed within this time frame then when will it be?
