You're right, but I think that Pakistan's condition has deteriorated to a point where seriously need to think about the power wielded by religious leaders. At this point, they are a law unto themselves and political parties are falling all over themselves in their eagerness to appease the so called "Ulema". Each time the Pakistani government given in to pressure like, its writ decreases further.
