They pleaded through their counsel AK Dogar that they wanted to appear in the CSS exam but their applications were not being entertained on the ground that they crossed the maximum age limit of 28, a pre-requisite for appearance in the CSS exams.

The counsel pointed out that federal government through a notification in 2011 had awarded five years age relaxation for other jobs but the same was not being applied to the CSS exam. The petitioner said they were being discriminated which was a sheer violation of the Article 25 of the Constitution.
