Dear fellows,

Congrats for shortlisting for the interview.

As far as the nature of interview and its time duration is concerned, its just like other interviews being conducted by FPSC and its duration varies from candidate to candidate, but normally it may be between 10-25 minutes.

The interview panel not only judges your confidence and knowledge of current/world/Pakistan affairs but also makes an assessment on personality, character, persuasiveness, wit, proactiveness and suitability for the desired job.

Like other interviews, the first thing is with regard to yourself, your family/parents, hobbies, books recently read, ideal personality and job, etc, then they may have questions about your educational matters, your qualification etc. Then they may ask you certain questions about general knowledge, geography, current affairs etc. Then they take your opinion on ongoing issues in Balochistan/insurgency, the rift between judiciary and executive, FATA, political playground, Pakistans role in war on terrorism, the issues hitting Pakistans sovereignty and integrity, our economy, unemployment, gender inequality, poverty, problems faced by power, industrial and agricultural sectors, Imran Khans drive to go to Waziristan etc. A very important question, which is often asked from the candidates, 'why do you want to join this service.' Think pragmatic and logical answer instead of saying that you want to serve your country in befitting manner

It is opined that you people may like to make points on all important current issues so that you can develop your arguments including you may make points on terrorist incidents being carried out in recent past. There is no need to tell any lie about yourself or your family because their departmental representative may be having some information about yourself and your family things, yet he/she may not be interfering in any of the thing. Further, it is also suggested that there is no need to make lot of hue and cry amongst your circles that you have cleared the exam and you are going to get it etc. Try to keep a composed and moderate posture.

It is heard that this is a very good position and considerable level of nuisance value, prestige and power/pricks are associated with it so work very hard for it.

Godspeed.
