I dont think so that it is as important as was of 1974's Islamic Summit. the reason is that the D-8 alliance is not as much influential in global politics as OIC is (or I should say was
). It does not have a very large impact like other organizations such as UN, NATO or ASEAN. Having said that, it may prove a bit positive development for Pakistan in present scenario and law and order situation.
