Default Please comment on eassy Sis Farah (Democracy in Pakistan)

(It is just a little essay to check my level of writing and grammer. I shall be very grateful if you can take some time out from your busy schedule and have a look on my essay)

Pakistan having been ruled most of the time by military junta for the first time on March 2012 will allow the country to hold its second time elections without any hindrance before the incumbent government loses its popularity or some elements might attempted to topple it. It is ostensible that the country will complete its first time democratic term. The seed of democracy which was sown on the grave of BB, by her husband and the incumbent president, has developed into a plant whose roots are full of vigour and vitality. Shaheed BB died in harness in her last days sruggling hard to pave way for democracy in the country. She is among one of those stars which will always shimmer in the sky and always be remember for her innumerable services.

Pakistan has been the most unfortunate since its inception the process of democracy was impeded and military took over the reign of this country. Democracy in this country has many vested interests which allow military people to act ultra vires and crush rulers elected democratically. The most notably of them are corruption, incompetence, nepotism, misuse of power and authority vested in them by the nation. People who vote for their favorate politicians are being ignored by them and their doors are closed for the masses as soon as they come to power. The intractabilities which common people face in spite of choosing democratic representatives of their own choice after every five years are very much owed to the negligence and selfishness of politicians who want to serve only their narrow circle.
These politicians exploit the masses through emotions and by giving post dated cheques of false hopes and promises. Every time people vote in hope that their dismal and gloomy condition will be changed once their chosen leaders come in power and all the time they have to abash themselves.

Countries other than pakistan are incarnation of democratic values and principles where no matter how difficult time has come the chosen democratic leaders have faced all the odds courageously and undauntedly. The recent glaring example is of American Elections where despite millions of people were affected by hurricane sandy without food and shelter in a dilipitated condition appeared to cast their votes on the day of elections and streghtened the democracy unlike in pakistan where on assasination of an eminent women politician the elections were postponed for nearly three months. This shows the dichotomy between the western democracy and of pakistan where a mere killing of a politician can spark a carnage resulting in billions of property damaged or burnt.

In pakistan there is dire need to revamp the democratic system and all the leaders show their commitment towards it but once they get a chance to steer the country the show their apathy in overhauling the pitfalls of the system. This hypocrisy causes alot of resentment among the nation and sents a wave of mistrust and suspicion on democracy. Infact the faults lies with our democracy and not the real democracy which prevails in other countries. The failure on the part of government in fulfilling their promises undermines the democratic beliefs of the nation.

We need to understand that the real essence of deàmocracy is in serving the people on whose vote power Government is established. There have to be effective and efficient system of electing representatives which should be made in accordance with the constitution of the country. The monopoly of upper class that is dominant in all the spheres mainly politics, business and economy. Some two percent people own almost 75% resources of this country yet their share in tax is as low as their population. In this way the entire burden of tax collection fall on the middle class of this country. Furthermore theses mighty giants have been facilitated by a number of perks and exemptions. This violation of rule of law is proving disastrous for this country and with each passing day we are regressing.
