how does advertising influence our society, Pakistani, and what are the latest trends and practices of advertising in Pakistan?

The printed, written, spoken or pictured representation of a person, product, services or movement openly sponsored by the advertiser at his expense for the purpose of influencing sales, votes or endorsement.

it is influencing the pakistani society both socially and economically
some positive social impact:
1-it suggest the consumer to buy better things
2- it helps in personality development(like it urges the people to buy cosmetics and dresses)
3- improve standard of living
4- promote social values n culture

some negative social impact:
1-increase frustration
2- cultural imperialism
3- make us imperialistic
4- changing behavior patterns.

some positive economic impact;
1- media organizations earn money through these adds
2- promote healthy competition among companies
3- expansion of trade and business
4-establish new markets

some negative economic impact:
1-increase lavish spending
2-promote economic disparity
3- manipulate people psyche
4- using deceptive techniques (like dont tell exact price....hide information)

latest trends and practices:

new techniques of advertising are becoming more popular through outdoor advertising and internet...(cigret companies cant advertise but with these new techniques they are increasing their customers.)
cable tv advertisement on small scale
using brand ambassadors (Shahid Afridi in Polio add)
etc
