After intial training at CSA, officers go to National Police Academy. After undergoing training, officers are posted to Frontier Constabulary as ADOFC. After completion of 5/6 years of service an ASP is promoted to the rank of S.P (eq to Major). An S.P under the rules has to put on 8 years of service as S.P so that he is eligible to wear the rank of S.P ( Lt. Col). On promotion to Grade 19, S.P wears the rank of Full Colonel. In Grade 20, An officer of PSP becomes DIG eq to Brigadier. In grade 21, an officer becomes Additional IG who wears the rank of a Major General. The top most grade is 22 where a police officer wears the rank of a Lt. General. In additon to this, a PSP can be posted to FIA, IB, FC, and various ministries.
