Dear latitudes are the parallel lines towards north and south of equater. North pole is 90 N and south pole is 90 S. while longitudes are the angles towards east and west of a specified point i.e. prime meridian. Longitudes also meet at north and south poles respectively. If we add these lines on the globe then whole earth is covered from a net of lines (latitudes and longitudes) and any place on earth can be specified by referring to meeting point of both longitude and latitude.
