A perfect method of writing an essay
1- Narrow and explore your topic
-Narrow the general topic to something that interests you and that you have direct experience with . jot down a few ideas about the narrowed topic.
-Consider your purpose for writing about this topic . what point do you want to make ? what do you want your readers to learn
2- Make your point in thesis statement.
-Review your ideas and decide what main point you want to make about your topic
-Write a thesis statement that includes your main point and gives reader an idea of what the essay is about.
3- Choose details and examples to support your main point .
-Use a prewriting techniques to come up with specific details and examples that will support your main point and make the topic come alive for your readers.
-Drop details that don’t support the main point , and select those that do.
-Group the support into paragraphs, one for each major support point
-Add information to make the details and examples more vivid and convincing.
4- Write a draft
-Write a topic sentence for each main support paragraph.
-Arrange the topic sentences and supporting details and examples in logical order and make a plan that arranges the paragraphs in the body of the essay.
-Write a draft using complete sentences in correct essay form.
-Write the intoduction, conclusion, and title .
5- Revise your draft.
-Get feedback from others .
-Cut any details that don’t support your main point or help show readers what you mean .
-Add any points , details , or examples that will make your essay stronger.
-Make sure the order of the paragraphs is logical . add any transitions needed to make the essay easy to follow.
-Don’t just copy over your draft. Make changes to improve it.
6- Edit your revised draft.
-Find and correct any problems with grammar, spelling , word use, or punctuation.
-Produce a clean and final copy.
