dear Station House Officer (S.H.O) is not the rank it is responsibility, it could be S.I or Inspector

Deputy Superintendent of Police (D.S.P) and Assistant Superintendent of Police (A.S.P) are of same level, the difference is that DSP is posted in difficuilt stations (main police stations) while ASP, being a new comer is usually posted at easy stations
