The Greek philosophers were rationalists and they tried to answer the problems of life through knowledge gained by experience and observations.Unlike Greeks the medieval philosphers dealt with non issues and believed that the basic principle of philosophy was just to speculate on known issues. They didn't answer the problems of human existence.Aristotle tried to systematise philosophical knowledge and laid emphasis that the purpose of philosophy was to give insight into human life and existence.
