Meaning and purpose of education;
SYNOPSIS;
“Are those who have knowledge and those who do not have and deprive of it are equal.”
1. Knowledge means awareness and illicit and clear concepts about something. Therefore education is equal to knowledge and clear insights and awareness.
2. The significant of learning and education is much emphasized in Islam, where the first word of revelation is “IQRA” (read out).Human beings were given an edge and priority to the all creatures on the basis of their knowledge.
3. First and foremost purpose of education is to know about oneself. Because, the real aim of human life on the surface of the Erath is nothing except worship and praise of Allah Almighty.
4. The uncivilized and barbaric Arabs became civilized and brought the light of Islam and humanity to the whole world on the basis of their knowledge and learning after getting it from the greatest teacher, the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
5. All nations who rule the world are advanced in learning and education. Muslim of the subcontinent had an edge over the whole communities and nations in the subcontinent and ruled for hundred years because of their power of knowledge.
6. Similarly, Muslims conquered Africa and became the rulers of Spain. Muslim rulers had well known educational institutions such as Bait-ul- Hikmah at their peak time and lived a luxurious and well equipped life with knowledge.
7. Now a days, there is conspicuous difference between the west and the east. The eastern countries are the ruler of the world in clear sense, while the western countries are engulfed and surrounded in multiple issues such as poor governance, terrorism, fickle situation of law and order and poor and vulnerable economy. No doubt this criterion cannot be applied to all the western and eastern countries and exceptions are existed, but it can be analyzed in the broad spectrum.
8. A well learned and well educated nation can improve its economy, use it resources in an effective and better way. Similarly, many problems and issues can be solved and removed by better planning and by adopting wise and shrewd attitude.
9. Many Muslim countries are brimming and full of natural resources and untapped wealth , but they are poor and looking to the U.N Aids programs for their sustain and existence, which is matter of shame and humiliation. This situation can be eliminate and averted by making them well equipped and advance in learning and knowledge. Because no nation can reach to the height of glory and success unless it is well learnt and well educated.
10. It is generally said that Pakistan is a rich country with poor management; this situation can only be resolved and converted into other term such as rich country with best management through education.
11. Education can only provide guarantee and surety of excellent management, good governance, flourishing economy, a well planned society and can convert the whole world into heaven.
12. The purpose of education cannot be gauged and measured, because they are measureless. Education and knowledge should be the only purpose of human life for making the whole world a peace of heaven.
