Well first of all one needs to prepare the MCQs asked in the past papers as these very often get repeated. Secondly, you might have observed that in MCQs the most common thing is that either the name of the writer is given and the book written by him has been asked or the vice versa. Keeping in view this fact , one should try to pick the name of authors and their books while preparing the subjective portion of both the papers. In this way one gets in a better position to grab maximum marks out of those 40 MCQs. I hope you would have got the idea.
