This is because it is a conceptual subject, if you have explained it right there is no way that examiner could deduct your marks for no reason.. but yes, sometimes he could be strict, but even then there would be a limit..

but british history is a non-scientific subject, marks are completely to the examiner's discretion. he can deduct your marks by assuming that your expression is not convincing etc..
