Revised version

Let me take care of today, tomorrow shall take care of itself.

Time we live in always has three dimensions which are past, present and future. We learn from the past, implement our learning in the present and plan for the future based on our aspirations. Today and tomorrow in this phrase describe our present and future dimensions of the time. If we manage our today well in the light of lessons learnt from the past, indeed we are also taking care of the tomorrow to some extent. No doubt future planning has always been an important aspect for the long term success and we cannot ignore it. Our religion also gives us direction to plan for the future to deal with the challenges. This has gained more importance in this era of globalization.
If we look around in different fields of life, be it sports, economy, technology, politics or social services like education, health care etc. , the first thing that comes in our minds about the success or failure in that field is how effectively one is dealing with it in present time in comparison with the past. If it’s better than the past then progress is being made and future will be also good. Today China is the fastest growing economy of the world. If she is successful in dealing with the challenges at hand, there is strong possibility that it will keep on performing well on this end as this current progress will act as a solid base to achieve future aspirations.
In this era of globalization and competition, future planning has gained more importance. For survival in the comity of nations, it is now mandatory to plan things in advance to be competitive. The countries who failed to plan things are facing severe challenges today and are likely to face in the future. Water scarcity is one such challenge that is haunting the world now. Our country is also likely to face severe water shortage in near future. A rigorous planning and implementation is required to deal with it in future. Similarly growing population is another concern for most of the third world countries. For these countries to compete with the developed world they need an effective future planning to manage and utilize their resources in the best possible way.
Our religion also provides us with the guideline to strike a balance between present and the future. Islam preaches a person to strive for to arrange the resources for the next meal. Spend and use resources wisely and justly. Similarly, it directs to make all necessary arrangements to fight against the evil forces. At the same time, it gives a direction to balance the priorities and arrangements according to our stay on the earth and in the hereafter.
From the above discussion it is very that the success of tomorrow lies in how effectively we deal with the challenges at hand. Future may hold something which may not be in our control but we can cater for those things which are expected to challenge our survival tomorrow with our effective work today. We cannot ignore future prosperity at the expense of the leisure today.
