Is reading the original texts required in Punjabi? For instance, 'tahli de thallay' and 'hath (novel)' and in the remaining nasr part, should we read the original texts of these works?

Second question: regarding the portion about poetry, should we learn verses to use them in questions about poetry? Is that necessary or just a good practice?

P.S. I'm following the book "Tafheem-e-Punjabi" by Prof. Muhammad Gulzar. Has anyone used that book? If yes, would you recommend it?
