understanding theory is the first step yes, but without dirtying your hands with arduous calculations in practice, do not expect yourself to deliver on D Day. all questions will 'seem" easy because you 'understand the theory', but the thought will be lost as soon as the pen touches the paper. however if you are confident i am no one to hinder you from your progress but i considered caution necessary.
