Begging is a social evil. It has been in existence since the creation of mortal world. even today, it is present in our society in one way or the other both at individual and collective level. Begging has been looked down upon in islam as it minimizes a man’s faith upon his creator. Time stands witness that nations that attempted to become self-reliant have carved out a special place for themselves in the annals of History. U.S has been able to earn a title of superpower by refusing to kneel down before others for aid. On the contrary, Pakistan has lost its standing amongst the comity of nations due to its record of begging before other countries on one pretext or another. begging causes emotional humiliation, submission before foreign demands, dependence on others, loss of self-esteem and respect. It is need of hour to take suitable steps to prevent reliance on others as beggars cannot be choosers.

Conclusively, it may be stated that begging results in loss of honour, integrity and self-worth not only at individual level but also at collective level. Begging individuals and representatives of such nations cannot lift their head before others confidently. these individuals are unable to make their decisions independently as they always remain duty bound to the donors. therefore, it is imperative that such individuals and nations should realize their position and attempt to stand on their own feet.
